Top Ten Reasons You Cant Trust Vicious Pit Bulls

Any dog has the ability to loose their minds. Pits are just the ones in the news most often. Sadly, IMO, they are one of the most abused breed of dogs. My sister had a neighbour that breed them for fighting and some of the crap she told me made me cry. 100 years ago Pitts were one of the BEST breeds for a family pet, read up on the breed's history. Sadly, with so much inbreeding and abuse by dog fighters this is no longer true.

Last month a Rottie almost killed a three year old girl. The girl's father is being charged with child endangerment, but the dog was declared "Innocent" (not vicious.) The girl wandered outside while dad was napping and got tangled in the rottie's chain. Just because of the size of the dog vs the size of girl she was hurt badly (90% of her skin was injured), not from bites (not a single bite on her) but from the chain wrapping around and scratches from the dog struggling. The girl was gone for an hour before anyone noticed she wasn't in the house! A case of a bad owner, not a bad dog. But because it's a Rottie a lot of people want to put it down even though it was declared a safe non-vicious animal.

I love Rotties. My brother in law has one of the sweetest gentlest dogs around, but he was strict about training him as a puppy. Large breeds need a training. They have to know from the beginning YOU are the boss. Just watch the Dog Whisper. Caesar is amazing!

I love rotts too, they are wonderful family pets.
my friend's pitts are just extremely powerful, they dont mean to hurt us,but all they have to do is wag their tail :D
anybody who has felt the wrath of a happy pitt's tail knows what I mean.:D

I had a new year eve party and I was fighting a friend of mine(we weren't mad at eachother, it just seemed like the thing to do at the time) and as he had me on the ground in a head lock, my pitbull was licking his face. Agressive? I think not.

Weird. I typed Pit Bull into google news and it pulled up 15 stories of dog attaks and general mayham in the last 15 hours. Weird. They're such good pups.

I loved mine while I had them.

Wife had to give them up when I deployed b/c no one would let her live with them as long as she had those dogs. Pisses me off that people are so naive.

I trust four pits that arent even mine like friends.
you can trust them as much as you cantrust any other dog,the crap about them being able to lose their minds is bull****.I have never seen a crazy pit,in fact I have never seen a truly mean pit.

I'd like to add to this. You can probably trust them MORE than you can trust another human being now-a-days.

I have had a neighbor's pitbull lose its mind on my old dog. I was there when it happened. The pitbull's jaw was wrapped around the rib cage of my 13 lbs dog. It took at least 30 mins to get the pitbull off of my dog. I was doing everything I can think of to get it off of my dog. I finally had to use a stick to pry its jaw open while another neighbor held on its back legs. My dog didn't survive the attack. There was a puncture wound you can stick your finger in to my dog's chest. And this pitbull, I used to pet it all the time when I passed by her.
