Thats horrible. My old lab grabbed a little dog one time. It was a mess. But this was a dog that roamed the neigborhood all the time. I don't think it got hurt badly, but it still wasn't fun.

Weird. I typed Pit Bull into google news and it pulled up 15 stories of dog attaks and general mayham in the last 15 hours. Weird. They're such good pups.

Well, the only one in the time frame you mentioned was the one in sweden were the "boyfreind" encouraged the pitbull to attack his "girlfriend". Do you blame the dog for that? Blame the deed, not the breed.

i dont think i've ever been around a pit that was agressive, a friend of mine had 5, i used to take them out everyday, they were great dogs

wish i had the time for one now..

Go to Google news....Type Pit Bull. It changes. Here are the current stories, most over the last 18 hours. I didn't see anything on Sweden.

Police deal with pit bull attacks(In the past year, police have had to shoot at least four pit bulls)

All right, guys.

There are good dogs, there are bad dogs. Most of which depends on the owner, some of which is genetically manifested.

Obviously, most MFK members are very responsible pet owners. Let them enjoy their pets and share experiences, be it Monsterfish or dogs. Your posts on potential dangers are important, valid, and have been noted. But they should not overshadow this thread, which might show the friendly side of this breed.

You consider yourself a responsible administrator? Shame on you!

There's a big difference between monsterfish and killer dogs. There's nothing friendly from dogs bred to kill. Try telling that to the families victimized by these vicious dogs.

Your reasoning is perverse, irresponsible, and may be criminally misinformed.

what do you mean 'bred to kill'???
my friends four pits would die for us,they make great family pets.
the only reason there are pitt attacks is the dumb owners, these dogs arent trained, like rotts, german shapards and just about any dog they need to be trained.
we took my friend's pitt to the park, there was about 20 other dogs(including pitts) and she didnt even look at them.
its all how they are raised, fighting dogs are still very lovable to humans,I rescued a pitt that was going to be put down..now he lives around DC,he plays with ferrets...Vicious huh?:screwy:

:irked: dude, you can not be serious. tell the family's of the victims that the dog was probably abused as a puppy till the day they had to put it down. these dogs ARE NOT bred to kill. they may be trained to protect. what more could you ask for in a dog? one thats willing to give up his life for you. sayin there "bred to kill" is just blatently ignorant on your part. the only canine "bred to kill" would be a wolf. but one of my family members had one as a pup to full grown, and was just as gentle as a golden retriever. sorry had to get that out
