Tor Mosal Yawn

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I saw a steady growth in the 5" as well as the 13" specimen.

7 months 2"+ growth, after many many hikari cichlid gold packes

Thanks, mate! Yea, given their feeding zeal and tremendous max size, that's a dismal growth. Well, it is not near zero at least :)

It hurts me to post this update, but I actually ended up losing both the Mosal and Doroensis last week. Amateur mistake: I unplugged my powerhead to allow some new additions to get used to the tank and its mates, and never turned it back on. These were gasping for air the next morning when I realized, but ultimately succumbed to the oxygen deprivation :( I'm so upset...

I'm so sorry for your loss. I had a brief blackout Sunday morning, roughly between 10:30am and 2:15pm. My back-up battery last for 2 hours and the rest was up for the man above. Fortunately, the casualty was one 18" Phoenix barb and a 12" Indian barb that was up side down for a day, and passed last night

sorry for your loss bro.

This has been the worst of times, I too lost my barca a few days ago, the fish was fine in the morning, in evening I go to the fish room and I notice he is gasping, and the next morning the it was gone.

I too have done this before. Not only losing fish. Countless times I've forgotten to timely stop syphoning / draining while water-changing or refilling, hence, flooding the floors, carpets, etc...

It can be quite upsetting but the positive thing is to try and learn from it.

The trick that helps me and apparently many more is to wear a reminder on your person. I wear a wristband when I change ANYTHING in any tank for a short while. Some tie a thread or put a ring onto their finger, put on a baseball cap, or reverse a baseball cap if they wear one all the time cap side forward, etc.

Wes sold me his trio of Phoenix barbs, JL. Very pretty fish. Sorry to see yours died.
