So what would be a good size pond for adults then? 24' x 24' x 3'? What if it were a slimmer oval pond that was still 3' deep, but had the same surface area of 576' squared?

25'x20'x3' would be great for a small group of them. We do 20'x5' diameter pools for the off season and they do pretty well, but I would prefer the extra length vs the depth.
 
Hmm....so what would constitute a small group? 3? 6? 10?

I'm assuming this would also be adequate for bonnethead sharks as well, right?
 
We keep bonnets in the 20' diameter pools for the off season as well... However, I wouldn't say that they are overly comfortable in them and would prefer something longer, 30'x20' would be better long term. But the longer the better. We are currently looking into building some bigger pools for some of our bigger animals, the 4' southerns and 3-4' bonnetheads would enjoy the bigger space.
