Haha bro, always glad to hear from some local folks. Too bad you moved to LA :(. Yah I have to agree, most singaporean mistreat their tortoise by thinking filtration isn't required. I think the problem is fish keeping isn't that popular in singapore. Few seminars/showcases about fish were held here. People still think keeping fish was just putting it in water, add an airstone and feed it everyday. :(

Keeping fish is popular in singapore. Keeping fish properly is not/

i think i may be the ONLY generation of fishkeeper in my family. my parents didn't keep fish, except the koi pond that my mother abandoned when she moved to Las Vegas, and a 10 gallon aquarium i used to breed guppies in when i was a kid.

my kids think i'm nuts and complain constantly about "my mom's fish hobby". the only supportive family member i have currently is my 7 year old grandson that complains to his dad on a daily basis that he needs to go to CA to Grandma Cappy's fish.

If your parents had fish when they were your age, doesn't that make you a 2nd generation MFK?
OH i guess... :nilly: :duh:

Ok i would like to make a correction. Did an actual measurement on my dad's tank. I was stunted... It was only 10 gallon.

And this morning I found his BGK dead with his stomach riped wide open (my money is on the pleco) and the eyes gurgled out.
