Toughest fish, pound-for-pound?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Several months ago, a member did a thread on mending his gar that was shot with an arrow, by some trespassing teenagers, at his pond. The gar survived and healed up. That's tough!

A buddy of mine had a whole house water filtration issue that killed all his fish except his pacu

toughest (hardest to kill) - common pleco
most aggressive (lbs for lbs) - auratus or chipokae, no CA/SA compares

Toughest- Common Carp, I've seen them living in water so polluted that you wouldn't think even bacteria would be able to survive.

Most Aggressive- Muskellunge, these things will kill other ones the same size out of aggression/anger alone and there's been a few reports of ones dying after choking on a fish they were trying to eat that was larger than they could swallow.

You know it, man! Musky and pike are dream fish, but I'll gladly settle for grass pickerel, if I can ever find any more!
lol I have 2 right now. Ones a beast at roughly 9" and the other is catching up around 6"ish right now. I can't believe you didn't get a TON when you went to the marsh...I threw so many back haha.

The first time I went I caught a couple dozen but they were all 1" or less and the two I took home just kind of disappeared. Every time I've gone since then, I haven't caught any, or even mudminnows which were much more plentiful. I only occasionally catch a yellow perch or bowfin there when I fish it.
