And just to compare that to the American "sports cars" of that era:

95 Mustang GT 3565 lbs @ 240 hp (V8)
95 Camero Z28 3306 lbs @ 270 hp (V8)

Similar weights, similar power but it took American cars 2 extra cylinders to do it.

I always hate this analogy. There is no comparison its apples to oranges. Take the snail off the poopra and see what it does. Like I said dumb analogy. And I love both domestics and imports so it isnt hating.

My neighbor had 2 of these old school supras a N/A and turbo model. They were a blast! Nothing out of this world but still really fun cars and for their day they were money and really ahead of the competition.

The Supra was originally intended to compete with the Euro cars Ferrari, Lambo, at a price that normal people can afford. In turn they are a very well built car and there are a ton of parts for them both OEM and Aftermarket, if you choose to build or not.

I'd go with a 93' or later as I prefer that body style, with the GTE and 6 speed, of course you could drop a handful of other motors in the chassis.

I'm also a fan of Second Gen Integra production stopped in 93 for those.

A 93 Civic is a another good choice... In fact 1993 was a good year...

Alas I'd take any of the above, but I drive a big Truck so this may not be of any help. LOL
