being and avid fisherman i know what boats are worth. you have a 115 motor and a boat that looks in fairly good condition.
you could have gotten 3-4k or more off ebay.

You must do your fishing from the shore. Or you weren't wearing your glasses when you looked at that boat pic. i had that thing on eBay last summer with a start bid of $500 with not one bid. The higher gas prices go the less it's worth. The hull was stripped. No seats, no carpet, no nothing. Just a sterring wheel. the engine and trailer, although in decent shape are still 30 years old. Maybe worth $800 for both.
Take a look on Craigslist and look at what boats are going for. If you do i think you'll want to revise you statement.
That both only appraised for $2300 back when gas prices were under $2 a gallon and it looked like this
Notice it still has the fish finder, seat, trolling motor, carpet etc.
I promise you I came out of this deal smelling like roses. Then again, the guy who got the boat may say the same.
