It has always been my understanding that Metronidazole does very little when suspended in the water. It doesn't get taken up by the fishes gills to be of use. Internal ingestion is the best way to treat with it. Lupins advice on how to administer it has been very sound. ;)

I wont be able to get my oscar to ingest it, considering i couldnt get him to eat period. Lupins advice is great but isnt tailor made info if i cant get my O to EAT!!! Hence the question, another thing I came home to find my tank water like milk, is this normal for Metronidazole or has it made my tank re cycle?????

I have never had it make my water go cloudy before. To know if your tank is recycling, test your parameters. It's the only way to know. Out of curiosity, what test kit are you using?
I know it's highly debated subject but IMHO HITH is caused by sub standard water and diet.

It all started with me trying to fast my oscars so i could get them on hikari gold (Where i live in Australia, we only just got Hikari) I threw in some Vitamin blocks. The Nitrates peaked. My O became lethargic and i started noticing more shadowing around his sensory pits. I've treated him with liquid flagyl but thats only good for internal parasites IF your fish ingests it, i need to get around that, one way is to treat him with [FONT=Arial, Helvetica, Avant Garde]Quinine Hydrochloride as well or some how get my oscar who is refusing to eat, to ingest it.....:(

Don't you live in New Castle? Hikari has been here in Aus for years. If it were me, I would forget polluting your water with more meds and concentrate on keeping the water pristine. Look after your water and it will look after your fish. Again, what test kit are you using and what are your current params?

Your comment "Nitrates peaked" ..this is the end result of high AMM.
Vitamin blocks what is that?

Your also stated the sores are red and ulcerated, take the parasite medicine back to the LFS. Go on a strict water change regiment, treat sores with a broad spect antibacterial or salt ( salt irrates the fish casuing them to produce more slime)... If your worried about not eating, offer a small feeder here and there. This will keep his strength up...stop feeding pellets or prepared food until water quality is back to snuff and the Oscar has started to heal... What's water temp..higher temp speeds metobilism..? Increase water turnover ratio and GL

Thanx for the kind words and help. This Flagyl has made my tank look like its snowing inside. i'm worried.
