Don't you live in New Castle? Hikari has been here in Aus for years. If it were me, I would forget polluting your water with more meds and concentrate on keeping the water pristine. Look after your water and it will look after your fish. Again, what test kit are you using and what are your current params?

I know its embarrassing but its only been lately we can get it.

The best thing you can do for Oscar is check water and do water changes daily... meds just do not do much next to pristene water quality... there is no known cure for HITH..it just goes into remission ... good varied diet ...pristene water and no stress are the key to keeping it at bay..sometimes all of this is still not enough... sometimes they are prone to it from LFS where they lived in tank with others with it... and it is just waiting to rear its ugly head...good luck

i obviously didtn quarantine my other O nearly long enough

Water cleared up in an hour and my O's on the mend. Thanx guys might post some recovery pics, thanks again.

Spoke too soon.....dont understand why my O just lays there breathing laboured but the other oscar is fine. Water params are fine..............:(

I wont be able to get my oscar to ingest it, considering i couldnt get him to eat period. Lupins advice is great but isnt tailor made info if i cant get my O to EAT!!! Hence the question, another thing I came home to find my tank water like milk, is this normal for Metronidazole or has it made my tank re cycle?????
Metronidazole does cloud the water. Try adding garlic on the food if your fish refuses to eat.

What are the water parameters right now?

All good across the board my boy just lays there on his side swims away every time i drop a net in, and still tries to mouth fight me but apart from that he just sits not eating and its driving me insane!!!!!
