Hello,
I bought 10 Juvi Electric blue Rams. I have had them less than a week. At first they have been a little skittish, but have calmed down a little. They are eating ok too.
Well today I have noticed a few of them have some ich on them. Anyway I was reading up on ich treatments for Rams and other sensitive fish and I hear they don't do well with salt or meds. I have these Rams in 84F right now. I was reading something about heat alone killing Ich, is this true? In the tank I got some rummynose tetras, a few ottos and a few threadfin rainbow fish. And a few plants.
I also heard that if the fishes immune system should improve that can fight off the Ich, again, is this true?
Right now I don't know what to do. but I do know the Ich is in it's early stage and I want to treat this right away to avoid any deaths. SHould I just wait to see if the fish fight it off by themselves as they get healthier, or should I raise the temp? Would the temp fluctuation irritate the problem further?
If you have dealt with treating Ich on sensitive fish, especially Rams, please help. Also let me know about the heat alone method and if you have had experience with this.
Please only people with 1st hand experience with treating Rams or similar fish. Thank you
