Treating tat with velvet. HELP!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I went to work to get an opinion, and the manager recommended quinine. He said a full dose will do and I remember they treated two brand new falcirostris with quinine at full dose and everything went okay. I am thinking quinine and salt?

Dang man. At first my Tat had some ick, but since then nothing at all. That really sucks. I hope your tat makes it through. Good luck, and sorry about your Juruense. My tat is really healthy now

Thanks. It is a shame, since Juruense seem hard to get :(. I think after I get everybody in the new 165 I might search for some kind of Ageniosus sp. catfish instead. When your tat had ick what did you treat it with?

Have to use medicines for velvets. Salt and temp increase does not hv high success rate.
High or any?....Whatever he decides, better act fast and get something in there.

Not familiar that med and hopefully there are no adverse effects from mixing it with the others.

From what I hear is it's a very mild medication. I do plan on a 50% WC tonight and then using quinine instead.

If any of the medications you want to use contain Malachite do not use it as its deadly the Payara and fish in the Ace. family. Make sure it does not contain malachite before using it.

When my Tats had ick I treated it with salts and high temps, and frequent WCs. I used to have 2, but lost one in the ordeal. Now my other guy is healthy and thriving. GL. Im not sure if it would work for velvet though.
