Tree frog I NEED HELP!!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
it is super easy all you need is some sort of organic dirt (peat moss or eco earth both work well) and some plants that can be real or fake for him to hide in. A small water bowl filled with distilled water only is also good to have. Also, spay him daily so that it is always nice and damp in there. Again, only use distilled water, tap water will kill it.
Feed it crickets, I would put 2 or 3 in every few days. Make sure there is some sort of lid so that he can't escape and it helps to have about half of the screen top covered to keep humidity in (a damp cloth or ceran wrap are good for this.)

Good luck.

What kind of frog?

Not to disagree with Snakeguy101 as I do like him, skip the distilled water. It is too pure and can do more harm than good. I use tap water with all my frogs and tads that has sat out for 48+ hours.

Screen lids are good as they offer soem ventilation and live plants help hold the humidity. A good spray down once or twice a day with a bowl to soak in is a good thing.

Would definitely like to know what kind of frog, or post a picture if youre not sure.

You can use the tank as is or even flip it on its side vertically - heres a great tutorial on how to convert to a vertical setup http://www.vivariumforum.com/commun...8-my-first-vertical-tanks-build-log-pics.html

There are many different substrates to use with many different pros and cons. If your feeding crickets or other critters that the frog will eat off the ground, stick with a peat or eco earth like snakeguy101 said. I found my frogs were getting the soil stuck to them and they were constantly trying to kick it off. I currently have a setup of hydroballs separated by a screen and topped with cypress. Its great for humidity but I also hand feed so I dont have to worry about they accidentally ingesting the substrate.

I use water out of tap but I have well water. I used to live where I had city water and I treated it with the same stuff you treat the fish tanks with. I dont know if it was necessary but it gave me peace of mind and it never hurt the frogs.

Make sure there is a bowl of water for the frog to soak itself in or even better, hook up a water pump to have water flowing through it to keep if from drying up or becoming stagnant.

I have some live plants and vines in my tank and some fake ones. They definitely prefer the live ones :)

I think after some more research (Cuz it's irresponsible not to give them what they need) I have decided to go with a 18x18x24 (33.6 "gallon") terrarium. In this I either want to do 2 White's Dumpy Tree Frogs or 3-4 green tree frogs or 2-3 Red Eyed Tree frogs. or a 12x12x18 with one Dumpy or 2-3 green tree frogs or 2 Red Eyed tree frogs.

Those? Should I look at getting a complete set up? I think it works out to be about the same price but I get to personalize it more if I buy things individually...

What do you guys think?

i would only do 1 white's in the 12x12x18. i have 2 in one now and it looks really cramped, especially if the white's are on the larger side.
