Trimac in my 125

Good luck w/ getting them to pair. He's amazing. I love his tank too. He has tons of room.

So, I drained down the 540 and netted out the female Trimac and put her in the 125 with the male and a divider. After a couple hours, I see this...

So....now what? do I pull the divider as soon as her tube drops? Do I let them spawn once or twice through the divider before I try to pull the divider? Do I just never pull the divider?

A 125gal isn't hard to net a 7-8" fish from. On a day your home all day, pull the divider. See what happens... If it starts going south, put the divider back. And let them spawn with it in there a few times. Then try again w/o later on.

So, what I did was the "partial divider" trick. The female is smaller than the male by enough that with some trial and error, I was able to make a hole in the divider that she can get through but he can't -- I think.

So she went through the hole to his side of the tank and they're swimming in circles and shaking and carrying on. But, no real violence. So, I guess I'll just let it go, see what happens.

I assume she's slick enough to run back to her side through the hole if he starts beating on her......

Fingers crossed, hope it works out for.you.
