Trimac in my 125

The female laid a BUNCH of eggs again tonight....on the OTHER SIDE of the divider from the male. So I pulled it out, hoping he'll fertilize the eggs...but I think we all know that's a long shot.

The female has laid eggs 3 times, male never fertilizes them. She no longer goes on his side of the divider. She stays on her side, they bow up at each other through the divider.

I think the marriage is on the rocks.

So, I think I'll remove the female, and the divider, and just put some Convicts in this tank with the male Trimac. I like Convicts, I think they're probably tough enough to live in the tank with the bigger Trimac, probably be plenty of excitement.

Well, convicts would be cool if you think the trimac isn't going to murder them. They'd probably breed in there themselves. Trimac + colony of convicts sounds like a great tank to me.

As long as you don’t hang the nigrofasciata out to dry, they’ll do fine. A breeding pair will definitely survive provided that they fight and flee.

Removing the female trimaculatus is a good idea imo. Absence makes the heart grow fonder lol
