TRIMAC MIX UP

A "trimac", flowerhorn and a 16" pleco is not going to work in a 110g for 9 months with a "very old person".

Get rid of one of the cichlids if you want a problem free environment.

Also, I seriously doubt a "very old person" is going to do 50% water changes on a 110g once a week which is what will be needed for this tank with those 3 fish.

You might want to seriously reconsider if you are putting all the responsibility of 2 psycho cichlids and a monstrous poop machine on a "very old person" for 9 months.

Without being able to look at the genetic history of the fish in question can you say with 100% certainty that this fish is a trimac (aka "pure" species)? No. It's impossible. Hence why this fish should be treated as a flowerhorn regardless. Meaning if you buy a trimac female from someone like Jeff Rapps and breed this male and that female together, there is no way to tell 100% if these offspring are legitimately trimacs or a trimac and low-grade flowerhorn cross.

My policy on trimac/flowerhorn from generic stores is if it's labeled as a flowerhorn - it's a flowerhorn. If it's labeled as a trimac - it's a flowerhorn. Sadly it's what the flowerhorn has done to the trimac. Unless it comes from a well known vendor (and even then) - it's usually a flowerhorn.

It's a nice looking female and if you breed it to a flowerhorn it is really a mute point because the offspring are flowerhorns. However as previously stated without knowing it's background and the fact it was purchased as a flowerhorn that is what she has to be considered. If you breed her with a 100% verafied Male Trimac you could not sell the young as trimacs because of the mothers unknown lineage, it is what it is. If you bought it as a flowerhorn that's what it is no matter how closly it resembles a Trimac. Like Modest Man said it is what flowerhorns have done to Trimacs and it's a shame.
