TRIMAC MIX UP

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I might be totaly wrong but I noticed a black spot on the dorsal fin, and the fins arent that pointy, thats a sign that it could be a female, plus i have heard of females with kok, unusual but it happens, thats my opinion, dont know what others think.
other than that it looks trimac but as others said it would be realy hard due to the low quality flowerhorn selling
by the way nice looking fish regardless if its a trimac or not

I've come to hate the flowerhorn ever since i bought my 100% pure trimac from rapps. I go to a few lfs and see flowerhorns priced $60 and up and dont see the point

The only mix up here was on the OP's part. As previously stated the fish is clearly a FH, just as it was marked at the store.

I also agree with VRWC, this is not exactly an ideal set up for a "very old person" to be taking care of while you are gone for 9 months.

Hello,
So yesterday we went to one of my favorite LFS, we currently have a
female flowerhorn we were looking for a mate for her.

And to be honest we do not want to breed these two at all.

What can I do to prevent these two from not breeding?

Would adding a third fish resolve this? Can a breeding pair
of flowerhorn live with a male trimac, or a pair of trimac live with a
female flowerhorn? I do not want to hybrid these two absolutely not

You were looking for a "mate" for "an old family member's" tank but you don't want them to breed and you will be gone for 9 months to address issues?
