Trimac or FH fry?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
They are at a friend's growing. Will ask for pix

Bump.

they should have grown an inch or 2 by now

not long ago i put a few pics up of my fh and was told its a trimac, i contacted the place i purchased it from and he promised me it was a flowerhorn, and said wait you will see its deff a flowerhorn, so i am just playing the waiting game to see what developes, if it is a trimac ill be happy if its a fh ill be just as happy they are both amazing fish anyway.

Why don't you post these on the hybrid forum, and get some flowerhorn experts to speak? I tend to lean towards flowerhorn, but I am very far from an expert.

Because without knowing who/what the parents were no one is going to be able to tell you at that size if they are FH or Trimac by looking at pictures. At best you could make an educated guess but that's all it'll be regardless where the question is posted. They look like young Trimacs but they could just as easily be low grade FH.

Miguel, you should post some pics now. They should have grown a bit by now and it would help. Plus, I'm pretty sure a lot of us want to see their progress;)

new updated pics of the fh/trimac if you have a view on which one he is please let me know,

Looks like a female Trimac but again without knowing the parents could be low grade FH. If you told me you bought a Trimac I'd have no reason to doubt you from that picture. Trouble is since you don't know for sure you can't breed it and sell the fry as Trimacs due to the unknown lineage.

SHE looks to be a trimac, though it can not be told if it is 100% pure
