Great pictures everyone! They are truely stunning beasts, what size tank does everyone think to properly house a full grown male trimac and what size tank for a pair ?

i'm putting a single male in a 135g, so i would say something atleast 72"x18" for a solo
and for a pair i would say 180g

Great choice! One of my all time favorite bruisers! To do these fish justice plan on housing them in anything from a 75-125 gal aquarium. I've successfully housed pairs in 125's. Here are a few Amphilophus trimaculatum I've owned over the years. All are pure trimac cichlids.

This F1 male eventually reached over 14". I had him back in 2002. This particular fish was The largest trimac I've ever owned.

Awsome fish I have some F1 red devils would you say trimacs are even more aggressive than RD's.

They're pretty close to each other on the agression scale. You'll find fish of both species that are a little more or less agressive than the other. The Trimac on average is heavier with more power behind it. Neither one is going to score any exrta points for "plays well with others".
