Trimac Tribute Thread

buddha1200 - your Trimac is only 4 inch? It already looks huge and is still a baby. Absolutely crazy - Steve C yours looks great too - but then again they all look great lol.

I think these Cichlids need more exposure not to many people seem to talk about them or know of them that keep cichlids. I can't wait to someday showcase a huge Trimac to guests, ramming the glass as they marvel at its beauty.

Actually I say exposure, the book by Richard, F, Stratton called "The guide to owning Central American Cichlids" has a photo of a trimac on the front page.
 
Wow!!!! awesome pics!! Man these Trimacs are really growing on me, I would have to say they are in top 3 cichlids that I will own some day! Steve if ya don't mind me asking where did you get the male your working on now ?

Not trying to sound stupid .... I know the trimacs rep, but is it possible to house them with tank mates.. lets say if they had just under a 400 gallon tank, I have seen it done before , like Mel-O's and a few others but would like some more input before I give it a shot.

thanks guys....my old trimac was a stunner and was being raised by its previous owner to be eventually shown at the ACA. I had planned to carry on that plan when the former owner had to sell him but like I said, I lost a lot of fish in a move and he was one of them. He and the festae pair I used to have are my biggest fish keeping losses.

He was about 10-11" SL. I definitely plan to someday (hopefully sooner than later) getting a group of juveniles from Rapps and trying again with them. :)

I would have a hard time selling him lol I would put him back in your private stock and use him as a breeder :)
 
Hmmm a Breeding Trio with a male that is comparable to that Would be AWESOME!!! If only the wife would let me have the check book for a day!! :D
