I'm in work right now and this picture is the only one on this computer, It's the one in my avatar. This pic is 6 months old, swimming with "the Kids". They are great parents, very protective. He's in breeding dress, showing his bars. He'll be two years old in December.

Great Trimac pics guys! Jason that guy was awsome, one of the best I've ever seen!

Not to be that guy, but these don't look like pure trimacs.

What makes you say that and if you are so sure what makes them not look like pure trimacs,i have seen hundreds of pics that look like them same colors and body shapes, also they were purchased from jeff rapps,so i guess you are saying he is misleading folks, that means everyone on mfk that has a trimac from jeff does not have pure trimacs, and there are quite a few people on here that have this same line of trimacs. Funny how you never questioned them.

btw there are several trimacs on this thread that look like mine and are from the same line and source. Are they pure trimacs? As i have said before funny how you never questioned them. Any way keep the pics coming guys and lets keep this thread going, nice thread so far on a very under rated cichlid.

The constant doubts and debates about Trimacs is because of the flood of Flowerhorns in the hobby. Don't get me wrong, I have seen some truly beautiful FH but they just don't compare to Trimacs IMO. I think everyone has posted some very nice photos of some incredible Trimacs. I hope more pics will follow soon. I like this thread!

Here are a few pics of my new guy. All taken in the last couple of weeks, at about 4.5-5". Looks pretty spangly for a trimac, but I got him from someone that I consider to be a reputable source.

I've been keeping/ breeding A. trimaculatus for years. Lots of nice fish in this this thread! How ever I do agree with" cichlidinsomniac". No way those two fish in question are pure A. trimaculatus. We as hobbyists are responsible for maintaining the integrity of these gene pools. I would be shocked if Jeff Rapps would vouch for these FH looking trimacs. Nothing wrong with keeping them for your own personal enjoyment as they are good looking cichlids. Not trying to knock anyone here. But to distribute fry from these fish as A trimaculatus around thew hobby is just irresponsible. Great fish everyone!

You guys have me confused. I'm still trying to differentiate Trimacs from FH. I thought I had it all figured out until this thread. I am pretty sure that Aquanero's Trimac came from a reputable source and is the real deal. For the ones that doubt his Trimac is a true specimen, what about it makes you think that way? What characteristics do true Trimacs display that FH do not? I just want to know what some are seeing, that some are not.

The fact of the matter is that they are from rapps,so speak on what you know and i see that you just started posting, has me a little suspicious of your intent. The trimacs on jeffs site have the same colorand charactericstics of these and many others on here. Like i said before its funny how none of the others were questioned(even the ones from the same source), Its also funny how the folks that doubt never have any photos are proof to back up their statements. I have been keping fish for a long time and i can tell the difference between a flowerhorn and a trimac, although sometimes it may be difficult. Plaese do your research before you accuse. and as for what he would vouch for you wwont know until you ask him. Aquanero is a pretty stand up guy and i doubt he would mislead any fellow fish keepers. so that said PROVE YOUR STATEMENTS (if you can prove they are not trimacs, which i know you cant, then you have my apology) as for everyone else keep this great thread alive.
