Here are a few pics of my new guy. All taken in the last couple of weeks, at about 4.5-5". Looks pretty spangly for a trimac, but I got him from someone that I consider to be a reputable source.

Is this from wetspot? it looks like a small one i got from them, but i don't think they are true trimacs. Thats what everyone said in my thread.

+1 to that,

I didn't reply to poster at the time because I would have had nothing nice to say. I think you and Buddha summed it up pretty well. Somebody was just trying to get a rise without any contribution to the thread.

This is a great thread and I would love to see more pictures posted. I agree the FH craze has made Trimacs become a much maligned species. Anything with a little more red or and extra spot or two is accused of being a FH, not really fair if you look at the diversity of the species collected from different locations.

I believe why people question yours was because of the body shape, he has a more curved back/spine. I'm not saying he's not a true trimac, i believe he is cause you know your stuff, i'm just saying why they might think that.:chillpill: mind you, this is only a guess, so i could be wrong
By the way guys, awesome trimacs, i'm still waiting for my trimacs to grow nice and big, but first i need to get a new pump because my quiet-one just died in the tank they were suppose to go in.:irked:

Spotting indicates absolutely nothing as far as determining the purity of A. trimaculatum... Excuse the quality of this photo. Another shot of my old F1 pair.... Check out the male and female "Two Rows of spots" buddha1200 posted a photo of the father of these fish owned by Jeff Rapps ... These fish were from one of that big fellas last spawns... The female was the largest I've ever seen about 1'!

Not at all. Just throwing it out there as some food for thought. Something else to keep in mind... They may vary slightly from collection point. I'm as hardcore a purist as you'll find... Some folks are a little quick to yell hybrid though.

ya i know what you mean, the only one i suspect is jowens, it looked like my hybrid trimac. My was pearly, way more than yours, and his seems to be the same way. Not trying to argue, just wondering if his was. If it is a true trimac, then awesome.
