Trimac with?

Not "others" so much as "other". One single fish. I do want a very very large cichlid community tank some day too though (like 1000 gallons). Still a ways off though.

Me too. My 150g is over stocked, but the sp. are not overly aggressive CAs and I keep my water params perfect. I have a syn, firemouth, 2 t. Aureus, salvini, a. Rostratus, a. Robertsoni, nic and a HRP. My plan is to get a 55-75g for my office and split them up.
There are days I think it would be so much easier just to get rid of the community and keep a single wet pet like a trimac. Overstocked tanks are so much work!

Ya I'm gonna need a bigger tank soon =S have 3 6" fish in a 55 gallon. They get along fine for now (minus a induced rage incident lately) but it's only a matter of time.

I traded a 55g and 72g w/ stands with a guy on Craig's list. So I got a tank, stand, and lids for free.

This guy keeps a pair of Trimacs in a 270 Gallon. With 2 other fish. Alot of people here and on youtube lose the female when they're trying to breed Trimac's. I think it's very tricky keeping Trimac's with other fish, and the smaller the tank the trickier it is. You really need to have a plan, and another tank ready, for when things go wrong.

I'm not opposed to a pair of trimacs in a 180.

Sure, try it. Just be ready with a backup tank so you can separate em if things get nasty. It happens.
