no its a hybrid at the least ,but i think a trimac.

u can tell that its a trimac becuz of the either flat gray color or flat yellow color under its belly.

flowerhorns are more colorful with more spots of sparkle

It looks like a flower horn to me too. I believe trimacs have more underbite and pronounced lower jaw.

i remember seeing a couple of photos of true trimacs from 1983 and they did have alot more turquoise on them and the only red they had was on their throats and it was the colour of red wine,also this pair had killed a pair of dempseys then a pair of devils and then the male killed the female which is pretty common

Nice Trimac ShadowStryder. Here's mine, he's just about 3". Got him from Rapps so I'm confident he's the real deal. Yours' markings are more pronounced than mine. I hope they come thru as he starts to get bigger.

now for the first pic.its not true that trimacs got an underbite becuz flowerhorns due to. now that i look at it its definety a hybrid the red blotch from flowerhorn,and the yellowness form trimac. the easiest way to tell the difference is by flowerhorn having bright sparkles lots of color, and trimacs are either mellow yellow(like mustard) or grey like this dude's above ma post,with few sparkles.
