Trimacs in a 75?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Awesome thanks guys! Yeah Ive been looking into some jaguars for a few weeks and I'm really starting to like them, but I really like the idea of a single trimac though, not sure exactly what I want to do yet, haven't set up the tank yet, still researching filters and things like that, so I have plenty of time!

I'm sorry but if a Trimac won't fit in a 75 then neither will a jaguar. Of course IMO they both will do fine until they out grow the 75 which eventually they will.

What size tank do you have it in?

Dont let tank size bother you. When you ask about fish on here people go nuts about tank sizes. Just buy what you think is cool and buy it small so it fits. If it gets too big and starts having trouble turning (which would be about 14/15 inches in 75 because it is a 18 inch wide tank im assuming), or if it becomes sick because of the size of the living quarters then you can always sell it and get something new. 98% of the time a midas or trimac will not grow any bigger than a foot long. Jaguars can get a little bigger but i cant see them outgrowing a 75 often and if they do it will take a few years. Ive always let people get in my heads and ive missed out on some good deals because of it.

I saw a video on youtube of someone who had 2 flowerhorns, an arrowana, and a bunch of other cichlids in his 75, is this possible? I didn't think an arrowana would be able to fit in a 75.... I really like his set up i just don't know if its smart to have all those fish in a 75 gallon tank, any thoughts? heres the video link
