Hello guys just to share my experience trimming the ST Tail .I noticed about two months the spilt tail cannot grow back maybe to wide open . So do a bit of operation what I did no need to sedate the ST but I off the tank light while catching the ST with big net and lay the fish at wet towel . Then cover the eye with the wet towel while trimming need to hold the fish firm. Items use sharp scissor and razor blade then trim till the tail spilt stop. After that use the razor blade shred the tip of the tail 4-6 times this make the tail grow back like original fan tail . Returned back the ST to main tank and put salt 3teaspoon need to dilute first then pour into the tank . The picture before and after .

I wouldnt of done that. I know the look of the split tail sucks but if the tail doesnt grow more after you cut it then its going to look like what it does now. What are you going to do now if its tail gets all beat up again? With it being shorter now you cant keep cutting away at it or its just going to be a nub. Just doesnt look right.

Interesting, have you tried this method before or how did you hear/think about it? I know often that trimming causes new, stronger growth in many plants and animals, but seems a little risky with an ST.
