Lol - No, I'm not saying you have to sell for what you paid, not many at all on here do that. I was simply stating that it is hard to justify the markup if you're not a "baller". I know all about people making money selling rays, I've overpaid for most of my Marbles. But karma strikes every once in a while as someone sold me a Marble for significantly more then they paid and I knew it, bought it anyways. However when that ray became a mother that person wanted a pup - I told them the same price I paid for the mother.... lol. Needless to say he never got a pup........
I'm no blackie breeder. I have a preggo one right now but I'm about as far from an expert as you'll find on this board. I'm just a dumb hillbilly. BUT this dumb hillbilly works pretty hard with what he's got, has some room, and will be in this hobby bustin my azz for many many years to come just like I have been. No "out of hobby sale" in sight for this guy. Meaning IF I did end up with your rays and we did work out a deal you wouldn't have to worry about them being flipped and you loosing out on your potential profit.
Chicago doesn't seem like such a hot spot for fancy fish right now. I only say this cause of the fact I have so many Chicago area fish in my tanks and have been offered rays out there. In fact I'll likely be heading out there to pick up another Lince since no one else will buy it.
I thought you only wanted cash money for the rays and weren't interested in trades or I'd be offering you larger tanks, toothy fish, or other rays for yours. I'd love to work something out with you, but I also had the feeling that we may not be able to make a deal based on the conversations that we've already had. Didn't seem like you ever even took me seriously. It's a shame though as I really think you're going to have a tough time finding them a better home in the area then they'd have here. The 750 they'd go in is just a temp home till I get a place bought and can build something BIG, but even though it's only a lil 750 I'd still put my system against any others of similar size as far as GPH turnover, amount of air being pumped in, wattage of UV, and overall efficiency of filtration.
