My Frontosa are babies, so should grow up with the tropheus.
how many would you think i could put in my tank?

Huh?? Tropheus 3-5" / frontosa 8-15". How are they expected to grow together? In the wild, fronts are slow nocturnal feeders that will nab whatever will fit into their mouths. ...sight unseen.

i thort the tropheus be big enough when adults not to be food.

what are the best tank mates for fronts then?

Tank mates for fronts would be non-aggressive fish that are wither around the same size as fronts or smaller and have plenty of hiding spaces. Calvus or comps are always a good tankmates for Fronts.
