Yes, me too. Not only did I silicone the chip extensively, I also sealed on an outside brace over the corner as well as an inside corner brace inside the overflow. There should literally be no chance of that chip cracking under the pressure.

Ah, you sound about as overkill as I am. My thoughts on those matters is that you might as well so you sleep at night!!

Wery nice trops. Are they all trops`? Just wonder about the patten are diffent in some of them or do they change "color" now and then.

Nice setup good to see a propper tank. Clear water or not lookes great

Are you doing one of those fancy 3D backgrounds? I just used black spraypaint for my background (not that I can see it yet).

planning on it. depends on if i can pull it off though. how much sand did u use and how throughly did u wash it? my first 120 was foggy for weeks, it drove me absolutely INSANE

I used about 240 pounds of unwashed Caribsea. Straight from the bag. Added the water over the driftwood to not stir up the sand, but of course it happened anyways from rearranging things and underestimating the return nozzles.

This tank so far is just holding two tropicals. The smaller of the two has a more vivid pattern, but this is to be expected as most fish uglify as they age.

that's somewhat relative, but you're right, they do...in fact the only gars i can think of that either look better with age or retain their colors best are Florida/spotted...Cubans also do a decent job. all the rest seem to transition toward more of a uniform pattern. the clear-water phenomenon probably plays a role in this too, but large shortnose, longnose, gator, tropical, usually have a pretty consistent body pattern--
