Will you post a picture of your parrot/con? ive been researching what all sorts of fish look like when they are crossbred with parrots. my friend is trying to cross breed a pikachu that i bred and his parrot.

Any progress?

Sorry you are having issues. With Cons, the only advice most need is add water. Mine breed like clockwork. A spawn every two weeks....

another question, will convicts still keep breeding like that if you leave their babies in the tank with them from the last breeding?

mine wont. usually every few weeks my 2 females would lay eggs, and the 1 male would fertilize them. they never made it to free swimmers however due to catfish and any others.

now the same 3 fish are in a 10g alone, and around 15 fry from their last spawn 4 months ago are still going strong, and i havent seen one nest yet. got around 13 striped and 2 pink convicts from that batch :)

yes the convicts will still keep breeding, but the older fry will eat the newly laid eggs or the newly hatched fry .

would would be the best suggestion if you are breeding them for other fish in another tank? Remove the newly hatched fry and put them in the other tank and let the other fish eat them so that way the convicts keep on breeding? or is the answer, get another tank for the young fry? At what age do the young convicts get to a decent size to be fed to others?

none. If they are easy to breed then there are tons of them so no buyers.

Once mine have fry they wont lay again until I remove the fry, then they get back to business.

I breed con's as feeders. It takes a while for them to put on enough size to be worth it. That also depends on how big the fish you are feeding them to. They will grow faster with the parents, so I leave them with the parents for 4-6 weeks then move them to 15g tank so the parents spawn again. Once they get <3/8 I put them in a 55 as the growout/holding tank until fed. For my fish .5-1" is the magic size to feed and I only do it as a treat not a sole food source. You'd need lots of tanks and breeding pairs to go that.

can you get pink cons when your breeding blue cons or do you have a pink con that your breeding with a blue? and if not then what do you get when you breed a pink con with a blue con?

Unless you have dozens of tanks and dozens of leisure hours and dozens of months of experience, you don't decide to breed multiple species of cichlids immediately after your first success after getting convict eggs...CONVICT eggs. And it seems like you had trouble getting your convicts to lay eggs. Breeding cichlids isn't just about finding an easy species and letting them lay eggs. You need growout tanks and someone to take the offspring off your hands.

It sounds like you might be trying to conquer the advances in fishkeeping too quickly...

I gave my friend 6 convicts and one week later they started breeding in his tank and he doesnt know anything about fish hahaha.
