I just got my 2 black convicts and the person at the LFS wasn't 100% sure on how to identify a male and female, oh boy! how can i tell?

Females will have a red/orange spot on the belly. Other than that, there's no difference.

I gave my friend 6 convicts and one week later they started breeding in his tank and he doesnt know anything about fish hahaha.

black convicts have an orange tinge on their belly? I also heard the head is more rounded on the female, is that true?

how many different kinds of cons are there? ive heard of three, pink, blue, and black. any others?

From what I have seen, they get brighter and brighter the closer they get to spawning.

but at what age do they get the red/orange color from birth? 1 month, 2 months 6 months?
