Have you considered instead getting some fish from the Barilius family? They look and behave very similar to trout and apparently do well in the 65-78F range. I think most of them max out at around 6", so they are a better fit for a 100G.
Just an update I have had the tank up and running for around 3 weeks now. Was supposed to get trout 2 of the last three saturdays but due to temp spikes I chose not to. These were both due to my glass lid that trapped a ridiculious amount of heat. It spiked both times at around 75-78 degree's. So to fix that problem I am using eggcrate for the lid and it is doing way better. Got a Fluval CF4 wavemaker last friday and it works like a charm. I noticed it really helps keep the water temp steady so I am considering another. Currently the water temp in the tank since installing this has been around 64-66 degrees. Now for the trout I am getting 4 from a nursery and will be splitting it 2 brookies and 2 rainbows. I figure I'd get 4 because I know this will be a trail and error process. Also for the rainbows when they get larger I have a private pond that will gladly take them in. So hopefully in a week or so I will have the fish and the tank will be completed
