If you have insurance this could be a good thing so don't get down. My truck was stolen night after thanksgiving and ended up being awesome. I made 4500 on it from insurance, they almost always price out vehicles way above what u payed for it
isn' that insurance fraud?

i hope u find it

no its not fraud. When your vehicle gets stolen you get it appraised with some depending on model year and your insurance provider/policy they can price it out at up to 10% above bluebook value. Sense nobody really buys cars for bluebook prices anymore you generally make money.

Lol, why on earth would a legitimate claim be fraud??

If the insurance company gives you more than you paid for it then that is their problem as long as you were honest on your initial application for insurance then it is perfectly legal.

Yeah but I thought that the police vehicle had to be near enough the stolen vehicle in order for the system to alert them......Hope you get it back,I've been there.

Oh no. All you have to do is report it stolen and Lojack automatically sends out a radio signal beacon to help police cruisers pinpoint the location of the vehicle. Even if the battery of the car is removed the lojack has a built in battery back ip that lasts about 7 years when power of the vehicle is disabled. Lojack uses the same radio towers police dept uses for their cb radios. I know because i use to install lojacks for a living

I doubt we will come out ahead, we paid alot for it just before the $4.00+ gas hike killed the price of trucks(in 2007).

You never know. Did you keep the paperwork of what you paid for the car? If you did then you may be safe.. just depends on your insurance company.

I have nationwide and I never got my car recovered/back so when I filed I showed them what I paid and bluebook value and they gave me the higher of the two. I also kept most of the reciptes for all the work I did (as in all the parts that I bought... including aftermarket parts) and I got my money back for all of it, including the aftermarket parts (well all that I had recipites for anyways). so I paid 2,800 for a car and got 4,700 back. Its always worth a shot.
