If you claim more damage on a car then what really happened? Fraud.
If you claim more in medical expenses? Fraud.
If you falsely value your vehicle I would assume that'd be fraud too.
However, if its YOUR insurance company that put that estimate on it, then no its obviously not fraud, which mqktandy and Ash pointed out. Lets keep the thread ontopic.

We paid $20,000 plus $3,000 in interest.
The truck was just over a year when we got it(new was about $30,000).
Then just a few months later a new one dropped to $20,000-$22,000.

You can't "value" your own vehicle. The insurance company does that. Would be nice if we could though! Of course, any aftermarket parts would add value to the vehicle, but most insurance companies require that you show proof of purchase. And even then, some companies require you get supplemental coverage for any aftermarket parts. My insurance will cover up to $1k in aftermarket parts before requiring supplemental coverage.TheRealAndyCook;4865166;4865166 said:

I am going against the grain here but I hope you never see it again. Many times after they are stolen, you really dont want them back, you think you do now but let them hand you a beat up turd that drives like ***** back instead of the truck you remember....not fun.

Major Police agency usually have several working all the time. The system works great. Better in someways than Onstar because its impossible to find the antenna unless you are familiar with the installation process. I took a report for a really nice 2000 Jeep Cherokee one night. i was hoping the theft would just park it so the guy could get his truck back in one piece. The owner only had liability. Three hours later the Jeep was totaled in a wreck. The theft hit three parked cars and rolled it fleeing. Th theft got caught but the owner still lost out.
If someone stole my baby ( 72 silverado with a modified 454. She pushes about 700 hp and 650 torque. = D) I would want her back even if she was totaled. It's the senimental value more than anything. Especially since my truck is stock ( except the engine). Stock paint, stock wheels, everything except the engine and it only has a few mods.
