true algae eaters?

a pack of ottos, nerite snails, or amano shrimp

My ottos don't seem to do much to fight algae. I'm sure they eat some, but it's such a small amount that it's hardly noticable.

As soon as I added 2 Rubberlip Plecos, algae started vanishing from the tank. Each morning I wake up to a new patch of driftwood or glass completely polished.

2 2.5" Rubberlip Plecos outperform 10 2" Ottos, so I'd go with the Rubberlips. Just don't expect to see the Rubberlips during the day. I rarely do.

me and rubberlips do not get along:irked:

The rubberlips will grow to around 6-8", should be fine in a 130g. They're armored too and spend most of their time hiding during the day (assuming hiding places are available), so agression from the other fish probably won't be too bad.

You could grow them out for a few months if you're worried about that, or try to find some adults.

The best are the Anacistris or bushy nose pleco's they come in a couple different varieity's. They do the best at cleaning the algae of the glass, driftwwod, plants. I personally like the albino type. They get to about 5-6 in.

Red tailed prochilodus then after a day or two you will need to feed it algae wafers and flakes or pellets. Cool looking fish if you never had 1. Just make sure 1 per tank as though they are peaceful they don't play nice with their own kind. I learned this the hard way. Bristlenose pleco will go great on algae also.
