True freshwater morays?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Full freshwater for over 2 years untill some idiot in the family put bleach in the water because they are afraid of snakes. Stills upsets me till this day it was my favorite fish, even over the marbled catsharks I owned at the time.

Are ****ing serious?!?! That's messed up!
How long did it take you to acclimate it to full freshwater? Did you just keep it in saltwater and just take a little water out everyday and replace it with fresh?

No, the moray was allready acclimated to full freshwater prior to me purchasing it from the lfs, the hardest thing for me was getting it off feeder goldfish they were feeding them, took some time but got it to even except pellets, moray' s love squid.

That's pretty crazy! Every moray I've ever kept will eat anything in sight! Never once had a moray refuse food for me.

I think I might just get the gymnothorax tile because I'm reading that they'll also venture into full freshwater sometimes. Has anyone kept one long term in freshwater? I've had one for 5 years but I acclimated it to full saltwater and obviously it thrived in that.

How much do they usually go for? When I think expensive, I think the rediculous prices rare saltwater fish go for like the Clarion Angel and Dr. Seuss Soapfish

No idea of cost of saltwater or what you consider expensive but last time I seen them listed they ranged between 100-250 each depending on vendor and size.

Im subscribed to this thread because im hoping someone says who has one. Ive been looking for one!

Ps. Thats not a bad price for what your getting.

just thought i'd re-open this thread incase anyone has Gymnothorax Polyuranodon, or Echidna Rhodochilus for sale!!!!! maybe an online vendor or ebay maybe?

Here's three G. polyuranodon I caught the other week. Never seen them in anything other than full fresh. Caught at night with spotlight and handnets. Not the easiest thing to catch, they can disappear into the smallest gaps under rocks. Biggest is 2.5ft, little guy is about 11". Beautiful eels and amazing to watch them swimming around the tank, primarily shrimp eaters so fish safe as well.
