True Hydrocynus goliath (African Tiger Fish) 3.5 inch $200

I am trying to help people get the goliath and all I get is being riddiculed..You want to see the real deal golaith? Here is a pic of a member who claims to have a golaith..The golaith that the fish store has on sale matches the member's golaith..Just click and scroll down, the page is right on page 4 where he describes his juvenile golaith:

I saw the same set of pics that R1 mentioned and, if that is the same fish in question, then it's NOT a goliath. It's very different from the fish I posted at arofanatics which has been confirmed by other juvie goliath owners.

Their is alot of diehard Fishkeepers up in the Bay. If and fact this was a True Goliath it would of been snatched up a long time ago. For $200.00 a true Goliath sitting @ a LFS would not last a day once the word get's out.

A friend up in the bay sent me a picture today. If this this is the same fish, it's not a Goliath. It's not even a Hydrocynus Species. It's the same fish that was mistaken a while back that was thought to be a Goliath. I posted a link a few post up.

Good looking out though. That is the ultimate come up @ a LFS. Tigerfangs has proven that it's not impossible to get lucky and attain one from a LFS. That's how he got his. However took him several years to ge so lucky.

As far as I can tell the links you posted was not the fish being sold at the fish store..You posted that link from a person selling it for $100 and that was not even an african tiger fish...I saw that fish in my own eyes and it matches DonH's juvenile one to the max..Also the fish store that is selling the goliath sells dorados, african pikes, payara, barracudas, african tiger fish vittus (spelling) and stuff like that...And I know the bay area folks around where I live..A year ago, I once pointed out this fish store that is selling the golaith in another messege board, and I got riddiculed for recommending the store..So no, it would not be snatched up by some die hard fish keepers in the bay ara because they dont know about the store..

If you guys want to prove me wrong, name the store that is selling the goliath, and which city..And the people I already told thru pm, dont leak the information out..I am trying to determine what is going on here..I know you two, DonH and ridah claim to have the true goliath and I hate to see this thread come to a point where you two would misinform people because of bragging rights..

I dont know where you want to go with this, if you want to play authority and if you never saw the fish with your own eyes and you claim that the fish you posted in another site is the acutally fish being sold..I totally disagree with you because I saw the fish and that is NOT the fish..If you dont belive me so be it...If you want to misinform, that is your right..

Say for example if I witnessed a murder, then if I would tell the police which person.. I would ID with my best instinct...So there you are...You can disagree with me all you want..

If you think that Joey and I "claim" to have a true goliath, then why the heck are you using my photos as a basis for your identification? It might not even be the real thing, right?

If you believe you are doing a good thing for this site by letting the members know about this rare fish being available, then it should not be kept hush hush. What's so top secret about it??? Openly state where the fish is and I'm sure hobbyists will go to the store to see for themselves. If you are not interested in purchasing the fish, what difference does it make? Why do they have to PM you for details?

BTW. I brag about nothing... I keep these fish for my enjoyment. That's it... Yeah, I like to share some photos but don't think for a minute that I think "Ooooh, I'm going to get laid because I have an awesome fish collection."

Yes, you are right..You guys claim to have the true golaith..And that also can be argued by people..Dont ask me why, but some people might think that way..

It is secreat because I been around the major boards that deal with exotic fishes for many years..I see a lot of members with appaling personalities and manners..And do you think I would tell these people about this fish?

As I said, if I witnessed a murder, and if the police showed me pics on who did it, I would go by that..That is my reasoning as it applies to this thread..So I am going by my best judgement..

By the way, there is enough information here that if the person sees the fish, he can make the judgement that if it matches your juvenile golaith or not.I seen the fish and I know what it looks like..

Yea, you go ahead and agree with ridah, because the pics he posted on the other board is not the fish..He posted a totally different fish and those pics were not even the goliath in the fish store..Ridah got those pics from the internet and they were professional (stock pics)..I am not blind and if you think I am then you are dead wrong...Just because a person does not have a moderator in their title or spends $$$$ on fish does not mean the person is stupid..I been keeping fishes for 10 years, wolf fish, dorado, african pikes, piranhas, barracuda, brycons, etc...What do you mean by "different board, illogial way of thinking?" If you think that I am blind and ridah never saw the fish and just claims it is not the goliath, I guess you think your thinking is logical?...And yes, I said you claim to have the golaith and I agree with you..So that is why I used your pics because I believe you have one..

Asian - what's the point in saying R1 and DonH "claim" to have goliath, when you yourself agree? Those fish are goliath, and it was one of Don's pics you referenced as being goliath hahaha

So what's the point in saying they "claim" to be goliath and "some would argue" ?

Why not just post a pic of the fish you've seen? If it's a real goliath and you're giving people a heads up, then great, good on you, but why all the cageyness?

There's really a simple solution to this... Go to the LFS and take a clear pic and post it here. You don't have to tell anyone where it is. Then there won't be any doubt and you can laugh all you want at the people who doubted you. Fair enough?

You read WAY too much into a post but at the same time you don't read carefully at all.
1) Joey did NOT post pics that were sent to him (and me). Those pics were taken from a friend in the bay area and were sent to us to verify the ID. Joey posted pics from the web to reference what the fish looked like.

2) Where did I mention that I was moderator? I'm only a member with less than 20 posts...

3) Why do you always post about your 10 years of experience with various fish? Is that some kind of self validation? Believe me, most people will know which members know their shibby by reading their posts.

4) Where did I mention you're blind? I questioned the ID of the fish because many people have sold "true goliaths" before and have been shot down every time.
