This male is know where near fully grown and will probably never reach his max potential, so you basically dont like fully grow dovii 16 inhes is a young adult or stunted adult male dovii.
Read my recent posts, CANAMONSTER posted Mel's dovii. that is the type I mean.
The dovii with the huge humps are the ones who are eating best with prime turf. Its like saying i like lions with little manes that and skinny bodys.
Mel's dovii is similar to the aquaria ones it's hump just isn't rounded otherwise they look like one another

Mels dovi is old with a hunch back and sunken belly, he was rounder when young and once again if mels dovii was in the wild with good turf eating and breeding good he would have a bigger hump. That isnt a type its a male dovii that hasnt reaches maxed potential even though his is bigger and better than most, you want to call it a type but its not. And this is not a dis to mel he has a awesome dovii just trying to explain a point.
And how would you know it's not genetic? maybe some species are carrying genes to have huge humps while others not so much.
When I say type, i dont mean it like a variety lol every specimen is different looks wise in some way.
