Crank the temp up to 82, and feed them lots of shrimp. The idea is to make them think theyre living in a very prosperous place, the fry will follow within a couple weeks.
Well that's good news for sure, then by the looks of it I have 2 F and 2 M or 1 M and 3 F (unsure of the one pinkish/white belly but no orange dots) I'll see if they take shrimp, they usally don't care for anything other then my NLS but I'll try that and some bloodworms, temp is set at 81-82
Should I remove the 2 that don't breed when the time comes if it does ? Or just leave em all in there the entire time ?
The pair that breeds will become VERY territorial around the eggs. Once you see 2 of them pair off (you'll know because they will go everywhere together) you will see eggs shortly. i would remove the other convicts once you see eggs.
so i should maybe go and sit and watch em everyday for a bit then ? there in the back room in the house we normally arent in much, but i do go in there couple times a day just to grab something or put it away... defintly will remove the other two once i see eggs tho for sure, hopefully within a week i see something ... would be nice to have some fry ASAP as then i can feed few of the tiny ones to my peacock bass to get him growing like a SOB he like 2.5-3" not big at all and wont eat anything i try feeding him lol, so we will try some home made feeders lmao, if not i just keep letting them breed like a SOB and feed to my oscars they love convicts lol
Once the fry hatch you will have to wait approx 2 months before theyre of any decent size to feed to anything else. They start out the size of a few grains of sand.

well my pbass is only 2-3" he very small yet as well, but yea it will be good if they have a batch and then once the batch gets large enough they start multpyling like crazy that i can have and keep a endless supply of feeders prolly need a bigger tank in order to have a colony like im thinking lol...(75g likely) i just dont want a fart load of fishtanks all over my house pretty sure gf is irratated with the 75g and 130g in the kitchen/living room and 10g in back room as it is now lol...
well been awhile since they been in the 10g and so far two of em hide in the clay pot and someone has been moving stones and cleared a section of the bottom of the tank male looks like he been beating up on the females tho... nothing to serious but you can tell for sure, hopefully they breed soon lol...
ya hoping my breed here soon my bass is on the starving path cuz he wont anything i try and live feeders from the LFS die after a day or two they've always been bad from his store... hence wanting to breed my own
