Trying to mix central and African

At 3 inches the Hemichromis are already semit adults.
At 2 inches the Paraachromis are babies, and don't have the experience to hang with the intensity of the nearly adult jewels.
By the time the Parachromis reach comparable age (being as adult) as the Hemichromis, they will be about 7"-8" and instead of taking crap from them, they will be able to eat the jewels

Agree, pretty much the expected outcome. Jewel cichlids are unpredictable ime, some aren't bad and can even mix in a peaceful new world cichlid community-- I did it for a while ages ago, until I learned how a mean one can make a mess of even a much larger, less aggressive cichlid in minutes once they decide to. Mbuna vary by species, and some by individuals, but a lot of them are too aggressive for any but similarly aggressive fish.
My jewel cichlids are absolutely fine with the baby jags it’s the yellow and black and white stripped one mainly the stripped one is also very small. I’m thinking about separating my two baby jags into my spare 50 gallon tank letting them get to the same size as the others then addin them back in? Thoughts?

The jewels leave them alone it’s the little black and white stripped one that’s about two inches that is harrassing them

The black and white one sounds like a Neolamprologus Tretrocephalus which are sold frequently at LFS's. They are generally sold as 5 bar cichlids....they are very nasty Tangyanikan's for their size. If it is a Tret he/she might murder everything before they become a threat.

Well he was the one getting chased around before but the last few weeks he/she seems to have grown a pair of balls and although very small is trying to dominate the tank.

Any pics of the black and white one?

Yellow looks like a young yellow lab. Not that mean by mbuna standards.
Black and white looks like a young zebra obliquidens. Can be very mean and is likely picking on the jags due to them looking similar in body shape and patterning.

Probably best to remove the jags, as a solo maxes out anything under 180 gallons (which is really the minimum tank size to happily keep one).
