tell him give it to you for free or you'll report him to PETA :D

congrats on the purchase, it'll be one lucky rhom in your 150g.
is the tank already cycled or you gonna keep it in a smaller tank until it's cycled?
any idea on the tank decor? planted or just some driftwoods and rocks?

Lucifer is a great name :)

For decor... I am going to find a perfect piece of mopani driftwood and plants, Not sure about the substrate or rocks yet.

I am going to put Lucifer in my 40 breeder til I set up his 150g and Thanks:bling:.

what are you going to use to bring that Lucifer home?
I am going to use a 5g bucket and a portable outlet that goes to my wifes truck with a air pump and heater:woot:.

5g bucket might be a little small for a 10.5" fish, the bottom of the bucket is not as big as the top opening, do you have a big cooler or styrofoam box that's big enough? if not perhaps get one from wal-mart and return it if you don't need it in the future. but that's just my opinion if you think 5g bucket is more than enough then go for it.

you are welcome and glad that you are able to rescue Lucifer.

*Sellers tank was horrid, water was cloudy, seller only did 25% water change 1 a month(so he says), and I felt bad for the juvie rhom that was in the trade.....:nilly:.

Anyways... here is "Lucifer..." in his holding tank since his castle is under construction. I have had sera siporax seeding in my other 6footer for a couple of months now so his 4footer castle should be cycled when I move him in soon.

Its late and Ill take better photos/vids another day....

This was how he was rolling in the cooler for hours. He had a heater, a digital therm to regulate the correct temp, and a huge air disk for aeration.

I threw a java fern in to help him feel at home:grinno:.

Lucifer will be in this 40g Breeder holding tank til his castle is complete. I will get a measurement of him out of water one day. Since I figured he was stress already, I did not want to do a fish out of water measurement today but he looks a solid 10 inches maybe a little bigger?

I usually grow monsters out and this is the first MONSTER I have bought that is not a baby/juvie. I had to save him from a irresponsible owner that trapped two 10"+ rhombaysaurs in a 40g breeder with cloudy water only having a Hagen AquaClear 20 hanging on the back for filtration:nono::WTF::jaw::swear::bs: :thumbsdow. I can wait to see his colors come out one day when he settles in . He is Truely a BEASTLY RHOMBAYSAUROUS. Can't wait to fatten him up.

nice rescue Bomber, Lucifer looks great other than the chin thanks to the irresponsible owner but he's in good hands now :)
it does look a solid 10". can't wait to see it moves into its castle.
have you decided on what kind of substrate to use in that tank yet? gravel, sand? what color?

I am going to use Black Tahitian Moon Sand that glissens in the moon lighting I am setting up for Lucifer.

For sure I want to get him a nice Mopani piece of wood.

However, I need to do research on plants. I have seen many great aquatic plants that have blade of grass so long that it reaches the surface and falls back into the bottom of the tank. I am not sure what this is yet so I need to do some research and ask around.

you should also select plants based on the light you'll be using. piranha in general don't like too bright of a light but you can get them use to it. depends on whatever light you will be using you might have to select plants that can thrive in your light condition other wise you will just be throwing money away and end up with some dead plants in your tank.

what rhom did you trade in for Lucifer? i feel sorry for him.

but at least you could save this monster from a horrible life, maybe down the raod you can save the other two rhoms:screwy:

Seller wanted this juvie...in the deal.
