Over there
My tsn has a weird growth inside of its mouth. I've tried to take a pic but I can't get a very clear one cuz the fish is only about 8" and it doesn't open it's mouth very wide. It looks like a ball and is attached by like a thin string. It used to have a 2nd one but it broke off while it was eating, I think. Should I be concerned about this? I'm not noticing any health effects and it's eating fine.

Never heard of such. If I had to guess, I'd say it is a parasite. If this can be confirmed, I'd not let it be. It could be an anchoring worm. I'd try praziquantel - safe and effective for any and all worms. I'd stick it in his food and put a little in the water.

Here's the best pic I can get of it. I have no idea what it is or if I should be concerned.

Are you talking about the two pink "balls" in his mouth?

The snout shape seems strange, bent. The eyes appear to be way popped out. Can you please provide a few shots of the fish?

Yes, the pink balls in the mouth are what I'm talking about.

It's mouth is bent upwards. It spends majority of its time with its snout on the wall as like if we laid on the ground on our stomachs and put our chins on the wall. I figured it just started bending that way cuz its been doing that since I got it at an inch.

I never noticed the eyes! Now I'm really worried. I'll take a few pics first thing tomorrow

He seems pretty healthy to me because he gorges himself till he's about to explode at feeding time. He's just not very active.

that's a crowded tank. no wonder.

I'm assuming since you have a 5" sand bed in freshwater that looks like its never been stirred, and he's with a rtc and a large bichir in a tank that's obviously not big enough(he's longer then the width of your tank) that he is in poor health due to water conditions, I'd love to hear your parameters. I really wish the average lfs wouldn't sell these giants to people without adequate habitats. Poor thing.

What size tank is he in, 55g? What's his tank mates? Water change schedule?
