I recently acquired a turkana senegal bichir and I wish to share my adventures into turkana senegal bichirs here.

A cold and wet day to wait for 2 hours for a package.

The package has been delivered, yay, the turkana was packaged very well. The catfish kept getting stuck in the creases of their bag though. Everyone arrived alive. The catfish aren’t turkana senegals obviously but they came from the same order so they get some time to shine as well.

He is 11"-11.5" making him my biggest fish. Also he does not like being in a 40 breeder. There is 6 inches of space between water and the rim and he has been jumping out of the water multiple times trying to get out. He clearly is not a fan of the 36" x 18" tank he is in. He is incredibly active as well, I haven't seen him stop moving for more than 3 seconds since I put him in the tank. Also he is stronger than I thought, he almost managed to knock a lid off so I had to add more things on top of the lid so he can't get out.
