Well, this “adventure” has been put on hold as the turkana has died.
Needless to say, this will not be the last post from me in this thread as I will continue this journey upon a later date most likely a few years down the road.
Don’t be sorry, sure I lost the bichir of my dream and I am out $500 but I did learn a few lessons.Sorry for the loss.
On the bright side neocranis did say he wanted to work on a bichir and it would be better than burying him.So sorry for your loss, it sucks to lose such a rare fish. I lost my wertheimeria maculata and I am still bummed about it but its part of the hobby just have keep going.

1. Don’t trust plecos with bichirs
2. No fish leaves quarantine without being 100% in good shape
3. Test the parameters every day after a new addition
4. Ask for help sooner
