I had to sign some forms saying mine were for educational purposes when I bought them as tiny hatchlings. They are both well over 4" now though as they are 5 and 6 years old.

Police have been to my place and I raise baby CMusk turtles
There lik 2' and like 30 of them in a huge tank
Friends got busted for weed and they saw my turtles, I was like -Swear words-
All they did is say "We know thats illegal but we personally dont care since your an adult and seem to be taking care fo them" They left after searching the house for drugs.
1 Even wanted to buy one for there son.

trust me, there are ways around the law, i see hatchlings on kingsnake all the time
