So about a year ago, my girlfriend took a trip to Florida and found some turtles that are "so cute" that she "had to have". Now mind you, they are some cool little guys, but I have no freaking clue what species they are. Very reminiscent of RES, but no red on their faces. Also, they haven't grown the slightest bit in the time that she's had them, and they're only about 1.5" in diameter. Any clue what they are?

They're currently housed in a 10g that gets about 50% WC a week. They eat a Reptomin turtle supplement that seems to be doing well for them as they have nice coloring and seem to be really active.

They look like yellowbelly sliders

I believe its a yellow bellied slider. Definitely not a RES.

Beat me to it.:D Had to double check my turtle book first. Originally thought florida cooter, but they generally don't have the spots on the plastron.

There more than likely cooters. And they don't grow very fast at most a quarter inch a year. They look nice but we eat the here in Florida. I just had some today actually.

Just searched google for pictures of both. They are certainly YBS. They don't have the Cooter coloration.

Exactly. The little guys do look nice and healthy too. I'm surprised at the lack of growth though. There's nothing wrong with them at all, I would've just expected them to grow faster.

They're active little buggers. I've treated the tank with ReptoGuard every 3 water changes, so it seems to be doing the job. Any other tips and tricks that I should follow with these guys?

How warm is the water temperature? They look healthy but they definitely should have grown more than that in the amount of time you've had them.

Water is about 75. Have a heat lamp on one side of the tank where their basking rock is that generally stays ~100 degrees.
