I'd say any of the painted turtles or the musk turtles would fit your qualifications the best. The african sidenecks would be a good choice as well, but they'd be a little more expensive, in the $40-50 range.

The rest all exceed 10" and would require larger tanks. And the softshells require more precise and prestine water quality.

after stoping by some ls and talking with some co-workers, I've come up with a short list of some recommendations.

- 4-10" max size
- partial to mostly water
- cheap
- not too agressive with fish

What do you think about those recommendations based on the above post information?

common snappers get over 10 inches and will eat fish. altho there awesome animals, u peobly dont want one for ur tank unless u wanna get a big tank one day. did u get my pm?
