However I wouldnt recomend housing a african sideneck with north american species. Sliders and painteds should be ok, but in the long term it would probably be better to make them either a bigger aquarium or to separate them, because sliders get bigger and stronger then most painteds and they can really bully them at food time. Its possible to house them together in the long term but in my experience the best combos are sliders with big cooters wille painteds, maps and chickens are great together

The Painted is a wild caught. I scooped off the road (Dummy was sitting right on the yellow line) on an unusually warm day in April 08.
