if i were you i would introduce it to the softshell now, it might reduce aggression when thay are older

Id say Peninsular cooter,will need at least 50 Gallon tank when grown.Dont keep with softshells,capable of taking chunks out of them.

it will need much more than a 50 gallon, think 125 gallon+
and i have seem these kept with softshells before with no problems

i think it is a cooter. i had one a few years ago.

make sure it gets plenty of leafy greens along with a pellet food. no fish!

and do NOT put another turtle with a softshell. softshells require very shallow water so that they can stretch their neck up and take in air. these require a filled up tank with spots to get out. please take my advice. Also, softys are very prone to shell infections, if he would scratch him, the softy would be in trouble.

koi pellets are no good and neither is lettuce.
lettuce has no nutritional content.

get some leafy greens
escarole, bok choy, dandelion, endive, etc...

and yeah get a commercial pellet. reptomin is one of the best i hear.

my friend had some like those they stay small and are great for little 10gal tanks but idk the species name nice find.

I don't even know the species, but can guarantee thats not true.
