I do have some sand like sedimant (African Cichlid Mix of some sort) it is just a tiny bit larger than play sand. I plan to post a pic because I do have my doubts about it working and want the buy in of people on this.
Is it the eco complete cichlid sand? And I am glad to hear the rocks are out and some sand is in.

very nice turtles i really want one!! Glad you got sand could you do bare bottom with them? Even the greatest keepers on here have bare bottom tank just curious?!

give it a shot but do keep a close eye on your turtles. If it doesn't work then you can purchase a 50lbs bag of play sand at any lowes/ home depot for less than $5 and it works perfectly and is easy to clean.

Yeah man I know I have used play sand many time before. It's just a pint in the but to me. It is harder to clean, and it starts to break down turning to gray mud like substance after a few mouths. This stuff does not do that and is easier to clean does not get sucked up as much either because it's heavier so I was hoping it would work out? Does anyone else have an opinion on this regarding if it will work or not before I make my final decision?

Dude, I would just pick up some pool-filter sand. Cheap, pretty, heavy, doesn't degrade, and has already been tried and tested.

Hrm, and I thought that someone could make a comment, and not have you act like a child. Guess not.
